We are involved with many marine conservation projects around the UK, often surveying and collecting vital data on the state of our seas. Yorkshire Wildlife Trust runs a wide range of projects focused on protecting and enhancing Yorkshire's wild places, all under the framework of our Living Landscapes and Living Seas. The Trust also works to introduce people to their local environment through volunteering and community projects.

Walks in the Leeds and Harrogate Area
The Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes by less than a mile from my house and there are lots of woodland and park walks in the pretty area around Horsforth itself. There are lots of interesting Leeds walks and Harrogate walks like the Harrogate Ringway and Knaresborough Round. I am simply blessed with great walking potential so close to home and these pages will reflect those areas as all the walks included on this site will be no more than 15 miles from my front door.
Created on a floodplain in Kirkstall Valley, a recognised 'flyway' for wildfowl and waders on migration, the wetland habitats constructed here complement the nearby River Aire and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The Reserve's educational programme is open to all age groups with local Primary Schools being particularly frequent visitors. The Reserve would, however, welcome visits from older children and is keen to engage further with this age group. Covering areas: Rodley.
